HR Works

Here's everything you need to know about integrating HR Works with Knit, getting data and making API calls.

Prerequisites

  • You should be an admin of your HR Works instance or an admin shared their access with you. This is necessary for retrieving the API credentials as explained later in this guide

Getting started with HR Works APIs using Knit

To get started with HR Works, first you'll need to generate the integration credentials. You'll need two things to integrate with HR Works

  1. Access Key
  2. Secret Access Key

How to get your Access Key and Secret Access Key

  1. Log into your HR Works instance (or that of the admin account that was shared with you).
  2. On the sidebar, go to Administrator ''Company name'' and then click on Basics or in some instances you can find the Basics appearing on the left side bar directly.
  3. Then, click on the Integrations.

  1. Click on the tile HR WORKS-API.
  2. On the new page, click the button New key pair.

  1. Click the button download.

  1. Your API credentials should have been downloaded by now as a .txt file
  2. Open the file. You should see the credentials in the format of
Access Key:		sqJ5/hkm*****azzgVz
Secret Access Key:	xLywps1Wp/lfNMgqf*****fNRMN1vEkeH229b
  1. Now, in HR Works, select the key you just generated and check the required permissions at the bottom of the page, and press save.

  1. Now give the above generated, Access Key and Secret Access Key while integrating HR Works using Knit UI component.
